About Alx Rho

Alx Rho is a Barcelona-based photographer with a deep passion for historical photographic techniques. Over his decades-long career, Alx has mastered processes like Wet Plate Collodion, Daguerreotype, and Salt Print, bringing the artistry of 19th-century photography into the modern era. His work blends traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary perspective, creating images that are as timeless as they are unique.

Alx’s journey has taken him around the globe, documenting psytrance festivals, producing documentaries in Morocco, and leading workshops in cities such as Roma, Milano, Lecco, Monza, and Napoli. In 2020, he had a residency in Auroville, India, where he shared his expertise and further deepened his connection to the craft.

His work has been featured in exhibitions, including a notable showcase at Escuela Grisart in Barcelona, where he presented a collection of photographs that explored the intersection of historical processes and contemporary storytelling.

Inspired by the tactile and deliberate nature of early photography, Alx left the fast pace of digital photography to immerse himself in techniques that celebrate patience, precision, and imperfection. His philosophy centers on creating meaningful connections—between the photographer and their subject, between the past and present, and between technique and emotion.
